Privacy Policy
This website is operated by Haroon Yamin (“I”, “me”, “my”), a freelance WordPress developer based in Pakistan. This policy explains what personal data I collect through auzite.com, why I collect it, and what rights you have over it.
I am the data controller for the information described here. You can reach me at haroon.webdev@gmail.com.
What I collect
Information you give me
- Contact form: When you submit the form on the contact page, I collect your name, email address, and whatever you write in the message field. If the form includes optional fields such as company name, website URL, budget, or phone number, those are collected too.
- Email: If you email me directly, I hold the contents of that email and your address.
- Bookings: If you schedule a call, I collect your name, email address, time zone, and any details you add when booking.
- Blog comments: If commenting is enabled and you leave a comment, WordPress stores the name, email address, and website URL you enter, along with your IP address and browser user agent string.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs: My hosting provider records standard access logs: IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, referring URL, and browser or device information. These exist for security and troubleshooting.
- Analytics: I use [ANALYTICS TOOL, e.g. Google Analytics 4, Plausible, or Fathom] to understand which pages people read and where visitors come from. This is aggregate traffic data. I do not use it to identify individual visitors.
- Cookies: See the cookies section below.
I do not knowingly collect special category data such as health, religion, or political views, and I ask that you do not include such information in messages you send me.
Why I use it
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss a possible project.
- To prepare quotes and proposals, and to deliver work if we go ahead.
- To schedule and hold calls.
- To keep the site secure, prevent spam, and diagnose faults.
- To understand how the site performs and improve it.
- To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations where they apply.
I do not sell your personal data, and I do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Legal bases for UK and EU visitors
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, I rely on the following legal bases under the UK GDPR and GDPR:
- Legitimate interests. Responding to enquiries, running and securing the website, and basic analytics.
- Performance of a contract. Where you engage me for work, or where we are taking steps toward an agreement.
- Consent. For non-essential cookies and for any marketing email, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Legal obligation. Where I am required to retain records, for example invoices.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses:
- Essential cookies. Set by WordPress to keep the site working. If you leave a comment, WordPress may store your name, email, and website in cookies so you do not have to retype them. If you log in to the site, session and preference cookies are set and cleared when you log out.
- Preference cookies. Used to remember whether you chose light or dark mode.
- Analytics cookies. Set by [ANALYTICS TOOL] to measure visits. [Remove this line if your analytics tool is cookieless.]
- Third-party cookies. Embedded content such as scheduling widgets, videos, or maps may set its own cookies, governed by the privacy policy of the provider concerned.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site.
Embedded content from other sites
Pages on this site may include embedded content such as videos, scheduling widgets, code demos, and images. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited that other website. Those sites may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction with the embed, including if you have an account and are logged in to them.
Who I share data with
I use a small number of service providers who process data on my behalf:
- Web hosting. [HOSTING PROVIDER] stores the site and its database, including form submissions and comments.
- Email. [EMAIL PROVIDER, e.g. Google Workspace] handles correspondence with you.
- Analytics. [ANALYTICS TOOL] measures site traffic.
- Scheduling. [SCHEDULING TOOL, e.g. Calendly] handles call bookings. Their privacy policy applies to data you enter into the booking form.
- Spam filtering and security. [PLUGIN OR SERVICE, e.g. Akismet or Cloudflare] may process IP addresses and submitted content to detect spam and abuse.
I may also disclose information where I am legally required to, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
International transfers
I am based in Pakistan, and some of my service providers are based in the United States or elsewhere. If you are in the UK or EEA, this means your data may be transferred outside your country. Where that happens, I rely on the appropriate safeguards offered by those providers, such as standard contractual clauses, and I keep transfers to what is needed to run the site and reply to you.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to work. Up to [12 or 24] months, then deleted.
- Client records and correspondence. For the duration of the project and up to [6] years afterwards, in line with tax and accounting requirements.
- Blog comments. Retained indefinitely so follow-up replies make sense, unless you ask for removal.
- Server logs. Typically [30 to 90] days, depending on my host’s retention settings.
- Analytics data. [RETENTION PERIOD SET IN YOUR ANALYTICS TOOL].
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Ask what personal data I hold about you and receive a copy.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Ask me to delete your data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on it.
- Opt out of marketing email at any time.
To exercise any of these, email haroon.webdev@gmail.com. I will respond within 30 days. If you are in the UK or EEA and are unhappy with my response, you can complain to your national data protection authority. If you are in the UK, that is the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
If you are a California resident, I do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA and CPRA, and you will not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, is kept up to date, and access to the admin area is restricted and protected. No system is completely secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security, but I take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the data I hold.
Children
This site is aimed at businesses and is not directed at children under 16. I do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has sent me personal data, email me and I will delete it.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy as the site or the tools behind it change. The revised version will be posted here with a new “last updated” date. Material changes will be made clear on this page.
